A Day at the Beach: This series "A Day at the Beach" is the outgrowth of a trip to a beach in the summer but on a terrible day: blustery, cold, misty, and genuinely uncomfortable. Nonetheless, hearty souls were there. The adults were freezing but the children were running around in bathing suits and often shorts and T-shirts. Furthermore, the gulls were hard at work wherever there was food. Photographically what struck me was the quality of the light. It was misty and even but bright light which highlighted any color but smoothed out the more subtle tones. These images are available as individual fine art prints but are not available for licensing. Please see the contact me page if you have questions about availability and the options for printing.
About 5 years ago I had a chance to go to a beach with my camera. It was a cold, blustery day, not your desirable beach weather. The light because of the mist stirred up by the wind was diffuse but relatively bright. I don't usually leave things as they are in terms of post processing but this time I did. So, here are 17 images of a trying day at the beach with the adults cold and sometimes hunkering down and the kids running around comfortably often in bathing suits. I hope you enjoy this gallery.
